CHICKOO MILKSHAKE

 INGREDIENTS ;







5 Chikoo/Sapota

1/2 Liter Milk

Sugar as per sweetness


PROCEDURE:

Discard the seeds ,skin and the white part which is found in middle of the chickoo. 

Add the chickoo and sugar in mixer and blend  till the mixture becomes soft.  Now add milk  and blend for 1 minute .

GOAN PLAIN PULA0

 

    Goan plain pulao is a simple rice dish which is a must at every goan house during sundays . It's had best which chicken or beef curry and salad.


Ingredients:

2 Onions medium size

2 tomatoes medium size

Rice 2 cups 

Water 4 cups 

2-3 bay leaves

8-10 cloves

10-13 pepper

3 medium size chicken cubes


PROCEDURE:

1) Roast the cinnamon sticks, bay leaves , cloves and peppers on a pan without oil for 2 minutes.


2). Add oil and fry for another 2 minutes .


3) Put onion and saute. add more oil as required.

4) Add the tomato and keep frying till the required softness. Add the two maggie cubes .


5) Pour the water and let it boil.  You should make sure that the rice and maggie does not burn at the bottom of the container by stir is slowing at sparse intervals.


6) The water will dry up , its ready.


Serve !!!

       10 MINUTES CHICKEN FRY RECIPE



HERE IS A EASY 10 MIN CHICKEN FRY RECIPE ....... 


INGRIDENTS:

1/2 chicken (medium size)

Small cup flour

One Egg

Any Chicken Masala 

One Lemon 

1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste

Salt 


Procedure:

1) Apply salt to the chicken pieces and then squeeze the lemon . Apply flour bit by bit . Also apply ginger garlic paste. The mix shouldn't be watery or too dry 


2) Now add  chicken masala or any flouvring of your choice  and keep in fridge for 5 minutes.



3) Next heat a pan  and pour oil ( deep fry) and add the coated chicken pieces.


4) Now fry till it starts to look like this .....

   


 5. keep turnin the pieces till it's ready as shown in the main picture above.


 Serve with sauce ... Enjoy!!!

Butter bread

Butter bread is simple recipe which can be used to make consuming bread much more fun. It's just a two step recipe and the ingredients needed are butter and bread.

Procedure:

1. Heat a pan on the medium flame and add butter .

2.   Place the bread on the buttered pan and fry till the bread becomes crispy. don't over burn it.

Banana fritters


Here is another easy recipe and is traditionally called filos in goa. But it is also know as banana fritter. If you have any ripe or overripe bananas lying around do not chuck them out in the bin . A budget recipe and it's easy to make.




Serves :2                          Time taken: 25 min


Ingredients:
3 ripe or over ripe bananas
1 Mug all purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
Little water.
salt to taste
vanilla essence 1/2 tsp.

Procedure:

1.  Skin the ripe bananas and put it in the bowl. start mashing the bananas with a masher or spoon.

2.  Add the all purpose flour to the mashed bananas and mix it. Put a little salt. Add as little  water if the flour starts to get dry . The mixture should not be to watery or too dry. Add  vanilla essence to the mixture and mix

3.  Place a pan on medium heat and add oil. When the pan is hot enough you can add scoops of banana fritter paste as shown in the pic below.

How to make soursop tea?.


Soursop fruit or guanabana is a known anti-cancer fruit. It's medical uses are not limited to cancer and can aid in a host of other illness.The soursop tea is made from it's leaves.

Procedure:

1.  Remove 20 to 30 soursop leaves form the soursop tree.

2. Cut them into small pieces as shown in the pic below.

3.  Keep a cooking container on medium flame and  add 3 glass of water. Add the cut soursop leaves to the water.

4.  Let the water start boiling and keep it for 7 minutes in the boiling water.The water will change colour to brown.

5.  Remove the water and keep for cooling. once cooled you can bottle it up and keep it in the fridge if any extra remains. 

How to make an Egg Omelette?.

Omelette is probably the second most egg dish prepared after a simple fried egg and scrambled egg. Omelettes are very healthy as compared to french fries or Mac Donald burger or KFC Chicken.

2 eggs 
1/2 tomatoes
1/2 onions
1 green chilly
butter or oil 
salt 
pinch of pepper


Procedure:

1. Crack  both the eggs in a bowl and beat it as shown in the pic below.

2. Cut the onions and the tomatoes and add to the beaten egg mixture.

3. Add salt and pepper to the above egg mixture and keep a pan on medium flame and let it heat. Add oil to the pan 

4. Add the omelette mixture to the pan.

5.check if the back side of the omelette is cooked and then turn it to the other side.

Brinjal Rava Fry

Brinjal is used in many dishes. Sometimes just used to flavor a particular dish and somtimes as a main dish itself like brinjal pickle, brinjal bhaji and Brinjal fry.








Ingredients:

1 large brinjal
salt to taste
1 egg
turmeric powder

Procedure:

1) Wash the brinjal and cut it into small slices. Alternatively it is also cut in small round circles.

2) Add the egg and turmeric powder to the brinjal slices and mix well.

3) Now coat each brinjal slices with rava/selmolina as shown in the pic below.

4)Heat a pan on medium flame and place the coated brinjal slices on the pan. fry till golden brown.

Goan Special Bhaji

There are many different kind of bhaji you can order in a goan or indian hotel. There are countless no of them from moog bhaji to channa masala, pav bhaji to special bhaji. Special bhaji is made of many vegetables mixed together.

Ingredients:

Half coconut grated coconut
2 medium size carrots
1/4 cauliflower.
2 medium size potato
1 tomato
salt 
Garam masala
Oil  
2 chillies ( red kashmiri )
2 chilly (green)

Procedure

1) Grate the coconut and blend it in a blender along with the red kashmiri chillies and garam masala. Blend till fine. Add water as little as possible

2)  Peel the potato and cut them into small strips. Do the same for the carrot. Next cut the  onions fine. Also cut the cauliflower.

3)Boil the potato, carrot,cauli-
flower . Once boiled mash it with a potato masher or spoon. Do not mash it into paste but chunks.




3)Now keep a cooking container on medium heat and pour oil.Once the oil heats up, add the mashed mixture and saute for a while.

4) Add the blended coconut and 2 cups of water.Add salt as required Bring it to a boil. 

5)Serve.






Goan Soup

Goan soup is a simple and easy recipe for the sick, old and young.

Serves : 2                                                          
Ingredients:

3 medium size Onions
2 medium size Tomatoes
2 medium size Potatoes
1 soup noodles  Packet ( plain)
1 maggie cubes (chicken or veg)
Salt 
Oil 
1 egg






Procedure:

1. Cut the onions , tomatoes and potatoes . Onions and tomatoes should be cut medium. Potatoes should be in small cubes.

2. Next heat a cooking container and add some oil. Fry the onions till they are done. Add the tomatoes and saute for a few minutes.  

3. Add 3  cups of water and the potatoes and let it come to a boil. Now you can add the noodles, egg and the Maggie cubes.  Mix the mixture so that it mixes well. Do not break the noodles. 

4. Add salt and stir. let the mixture boil for 3 minutes and taste if it is done. The potatoes should be soft along with the rest of the ingredients. Serve

Let the soup boil for around 4 mins




Tip: You can boil the potatoes in advance if you have the time and add it only when the mixture starts to boil.

Best to add soup leaves called avichi baji  as it is known in Goa.

Sheera




Sheera is a sweet dish made from semolina /rava . It is simple to prepare.

Serves: 3                          Time Taken: 15 minutes                              


Ingredients:

250 gms Rava/semolina
1 teaspoon ghee
1 small cup water
Few cardamom seeds.


Procedure:

1)Pass the rava/semolina through a sieve. Heat a pan on medium flame. Add the rava/semolina and keep stiring.rava roasted in a pan




2) Add ghee and keep stiring. Make sure the rava is properly mixed with the ghee. Do not allow the rave to change colour from white to brown.

3) Add cardamom seeds. Now add water to the rava and keep stiring. The rave mixture tends to become small  balls. break them.

4) when the water dries up and the rava mixture becomes dry, remove the rava from the gas and plate it into a container

How to make scrambled eggs?

Scrambled eggs can be a good way to consume eggs when your fed up of the usual way of cooking eggs. Here is a quick recipe of scrambled eggs.


Time Taken: 5 minutes 
 
Ingredients:
 2 Eggs
 Salt to taste
 Pepper powder

Procedure:

1) Crack 2 eggs in a bowl and start beating it till the egg yolk and egg white mixes and the full mixture becomes yellow.

2) Heat a pan on medium flame, add butter as required and then pour the above mixed mixture into the pan.

3) keep stirring the mixture till it breaks into medium chunks of eggs. Now it's up to you to decide how moist you want your scrambled eggs.

4) Once it's done remove from the pan and plate it. Add a dash of pepper and serve.
